External paging speakers can be used with XBLUE systems by connecting the paging equipment to an unused CO line port. With XBLUE X25 and X50 systems in particular the paging equipment can be connected to the TEL port.
CO Line Ports are sometimes called Trunk ports. The TEL port is sometimes called a Single Line Telephone Port. Both types of ports are found on the back edge of the X25 or X50 communications server. This is the same area where all other connection are made to the system.
Once setup, system users access the paging system by pressing the associated CO line button or dialing a code. In the case of the X25 system’s default CO Lines codes are 701 through 704, and the TEL port code is 117. In the case of the X50 system’s default CO Lines codes are 701 through 706, and the TEL port code is 125.
