Example Of A Low Voltage Work Box Used To Wall Mount An X3030 IP Phone
Work Boxes are used to install both high and low voltage connectors and devices onto or into drywall.
This example shows the installation of the Work Box into a new drywall cut out. However, Work Box mounting holes are standardized enabling the same mounting method to work equally well with existing boxes installed during new construction or as add-ons.
Note that the power supply plug is not within the Work Box opening. As a result, power for the phone must come from a PoE source rather than the plug-in power adapter that comes with the X3030 phone. It is possible to use the plug-in power adapter with use of a surface mount Work Box and by installing the phone near an AC outlet.
